Heroes of the Storm will leave beta on June 2

Blizzard's multiplayer online battle arena / crossover fanfiction game Heroes of the Storm will get a full release on June 2, following a two-week open beta starting on May 19. At that point Heroes of the Storm will become truly free-to-play, instead of requiring users to win a beta key or purchase a founder's pack to start playing. Blizzard marked the announcement with a new CGI trailer.

Heroes lets players command one of more than 30 characters pulled from Blizzard's Warcraft, Starcraft, and Diablo franchises (also The Lost Vikings) - much like League of Legends, you can buy new heroes with in-game currency, purchase them with real cash, or just pick from the free weekly rotation. Players compete across an expanding selection of maps, each with unique momentum-shifting mechanics, in five-on-five matches against fellow players or AI opponents.
