The Fallout 4 Pip-Boy Edition is 100-percent, factory-can't-make-any-more sold out, but why wait months for a pre-made hunk of plastic anyway? If you have access to 3D printing and a few evenings to kill, consider this incredible fan-made Pip-Boy 3000 Mark IV model your new project.
The model, created by mechanical engineer Yvo de Haas and released for free under the Creative Commons license, is an intricately detailed replica of Fallout 4's new Pip-Boy, complete with opening/closing tape deck, wrist hinge, and three planned sizes. It's especially impressive when you consider the limited source material de Haas had to work from - a few minutes worth of trailer footage and a handful of screenshots - and the fact that it will still hold your smartphone of choice all comfy cozy for the official companion app.
Some assembly is required: the model comes in several dozen individual parts, and you'll need to furnish your own screws and other miscellaneous hardware to get all the knobs twirling and the latches latching. You'll also want to sand it down and paint it, unless you're partial to that gritty 3D printing texture. As long as you finish by November, you can still make all those chumps waiting on their Pip-Boy Edition pre-orders green with envy.
