Brad Pitt plans to quit acting in three years' time

Brad Pitt has had something of an eclectic career, proving his adaptability and never straining under the intense scrutiny of his life off the screen. But, it seems he’s ready to stop acting.

When asked by Australia’s 60 Minutes how long it is until he plans to throw the towel in, he simply said, “Three years”.

However, it doesn't seem like the actor will be departing the industry completely after his apparent acting retirement in 2014 (by which point he'll be 50).

He went onto say, “I am really enjoying the producing side and development of stories and putting those pieces together. And getting stories to the plate that might have had a tougher time otherwise…”

Could a shot at directing be on the cards?

Pitt is currently promoting new film Moneyball ( which he produces as well as stars in). It opens on 25 November 2011 in the UK.

He'll be seen next year in crime thriller Cogan’s Trade and zombie horror World War Z .

See? Eclectic.
