Jaws (1975)
20, 000 Leagues Under The Sea (1954)
The Captain: Nemo is captain of the Nautilus, a mysterious captain who prefers the sea to the land, which has proved evil to him throughout his life.
The Awesome: James Mason's Captain Nemo is the quintessential Nemo and he fights to the very end, when he finally goes down with his ship, his loyal crew come with him.
Star Wars (1977-1983)
The Captain: Han Solo might not be called captain, but he's captain of the Millenium Falcon, and that's reason enought to be on this list.
The Awesome: Harrison Ford's mercenary space pilot comes across as selfish, but when it comes down to it, he saves Luke Skywalker and pretty much the entire universe. He also boasts Chewie, that adorable wookie, as his loyal companion.
He smuggles, he gambles and his best mate is a massive dog that tears people's arms off when they piss him off.
We double-dare you to tell him he's not the most awesome captain of all time and space.
