IGN: NBA 2K8 has now been updated to address the flurry of trades and roster moves that have enveloped the NBA over the last six weeks. Starting with the Pau Gasol trade and culminating with the moves made at the trade deadline, the changes allow users to accurately play out the rest of the NBA season with stars like Shaquille O'Neal, Jason Kidd, and Mike Bibby in their new homes.

The update does not address post-trade deadline moves, such as Sam Cassell's buyout by the Clippers and acquisition by the Celtics.

VGChartz has just uploaded the new hard- and software sales for the week of September 30 - October 6. Not suprisingly, Halo 3 remains the top selling game in the US with an additional 562.000 copies in its second week, which brings its total to almost 3.2 million. Nintendo DS's biggest title of the year thus far, The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass, debuted on second place with almost 350.000 copies. Also, NBA 2K8 on the Xbox 360 outsold NBA Live 08 on the Xbox 360 and Playstation 2 with a debut of 116.000, compared to NBA Live's 102.000 on the Xbox 360. Microsofts exclusive title Project Gotham Racing 4 debuted with just 90.000 copies in its first week.

On the hardware side, the Halo 3 effect seems to still effect the Xbox 360 hardware sales as Xbox 360 hardware numbers jumped another 6% to almost 130.000. Nintendo DS was still the top selling hardware this week, despite a 5% decline to 135.000 copies. Nintendo Wii sales dropped 2% to 95.000 as Playstation 3 numbers remained at the same level with almost 30.000 units. Check out all this weeks numbers after the jump.
Oct 5, 2007

The Phoenix Suns have been the team that's "supposed to" win the championship for a couple of years now. Stocked to the rim with flash, dash, and pizzazz, they've made a habit of running roughshod over teams in the regular season only to fail at crunchtime when the fundamentals of defense and toughness have eluded them. For better and for worse, NBA 2K8 shares a lot of those traits with Steve Nash and company. While it's certainly a treat to look at and play, there are some ...
No one's going to blame you if the first thing you notice about NBA 2K8 is the jazzed up visual presentation. Bottom line: the game looks downright amazing. It's not just limited to the way players look, either (and they do look great, even the obscurest of obscure like Seattle center Robert Swift appears eerily similar to his real life, Ronald McDonald-esque counterpart). 2K has undertaken a massive overhaul in the way players move - both in the how they interact with each other and how they ...

"Our[PS3 version] does run at 60fps" said 2K Sports PR Manager Anthony Chau, in response to Madden 08's less smooth framerate on the PS3. He can carefully say the NBA 2K8 will run at 60fps on the PS3 and the Xbox 360.
