A reliable source has confirmed to Next-Gen that Microsoft is cancelling the superhero MMO Marvel Universe Online.
Microsoft has put the rumors to bed, and as long as you remember to leave out milk and cookies, there may just be a new Xbox 360 waiting for you under the tree when you wake in the morning - at least that is what Microsoft surely hopes.
The acclaimed Forza Motorsport 2 and Marvel Ultimate Alliance will both be included for the recently reduced prices of $349.99 for Xbox 360 and $449.99 for Xbox 360 Elite. Both bundles will be available at your favorite game retailer by the end of October.
Joystiq reports that after being announced two weeks ago with prices and everything, then promptly disappearing, three content packs for Marvel Ultimate Alliance have finally, actually made their way to the Xbox Live Marketplace.
So April 10th has come and gone, and the new characters for Marvel Ultimate Alliance on the Xbox 360 are a no-show, despite the date emblazoned on the preview trailer. Said trailer has since been pulled from Xbox Live Marketplace.
The Marvel Ultimate Alliance achievement list has changed for some upcoming DLC (downloadable content), giving the game 12 new achievements and increasing the total score to 1250 points.

IGN reports: "Marvel: Ultimate Heroes and Villains expansion adds eight new playable characters. Joining the aforementioned green behemoth are Cyclops, Nightcrawler, Hawkeye, Magneto, Venom, Sabretooth and Doctor Doom. Each character comes with new signature powers, skins, dialogue and conversations. And yes, 10 new Achievements are being added, bringing Ultimate Alliance's total to a whopping 60 possible Achievements."
Activision has shipped the Xbox 360 version of Marvel: Ultimate Alliance to retailers nationwide, with an MSRP of $60, but you don't have to pay full price. Play-Asia.com is listing Marvel: Ultimate Alliance as a region free title, so you can import your copy for much closer to $40.
