Lost Planet: Extreme Condition

Lost Planet - multiplayer update

The first patch for this cutting-edge futuristic shooter - yes, they fixed the text size

A Lost Planet demo was released last weekend over Xbox Live, and with it came the feedback of thousands of fans. Capcom's team would like us to know that they have been listening reading the message boards, checking out blogs, searching through the trash, and even reading the suggestions generated by the hundreds of thousands of demo players.

Although Capcom was able to anticipate some of the helpful changes and include them in the final launch version (the text display for standard def TVs has been fixed), others will be available in a patch that will be made available for the North American and European launch of Lost Planet, on Jan. 12.

The bulk of the updates will apply to the Lobby and Matchmaking system, based on user feedback.  Changes include:

  • Private slots can be set by host.
  • Invite friends to a match.
  • Number of players in a room will be displayed next to the name of the room.
  • Players will not be kicked to the main menu if they attempt to join a full game.
  • Players will be able to refresh the match list without returning to the main menu.
  • Cycling maps on replayed matches when the map selection is set to random.
  • Text size on the team selection screen will be greatly increased on standard def TVs.
  • When manual team selection is set to ON, players will have 20 seconds to join a team.
  • The time limit on each match will be maxed out at 60 minutes.
  • Player’s custom match criteria will now be saved.
