Eidos is releasing four new downloadable maps for the Fragile Alliance multiplayer mode in Kane & Lynch: Dead Men. The maps will be downloadable for free on April 17, from Xbox LIVE and from the Playstation Network for the PS3. The new maps will be released in one downloadable pack entitled 'The Dope Bag', with each of the four maps featuring its own unique scenario. There will also be an additional 250 Xbox 360 achievement points to earn based on the downloadable content.» Read More

The Advertising Standards Authority has outlawed an Eidos advertising campaign for Kane & Lynch.
The body has ordered Eidos not to print or broadcast the ads again, after upholding 26 complaints and calling the promotion 'graphic' and 'shocking'.
One press ad shows a gagged woman, crying and having her head held back by one of the pair. It was printed over a double-page spread in Edge, with a second version appearing in Total Film magazine.

Buried in its restructuring statement was this bit of data from SCi/Eidos: Kane and Lynch sold 1.4 million units.
That's a solid, though far from spectacular, worldwide performance for a game that got very mixed reviews.
However SCi said it could have done much better. "We believe it could have sold more had we optimised the opportunity," it said in a statement.

Videogamer writes: The Official PlayStation Magazine, is reporting that Kane & Lynch 2 is in development.
As revealed on the official PlayStation EU forum, the magazine says: "Sci has announced Kane & Lynch 2 is already in development."
The news came as some surprise to us here at VideoGamer.com, so we thought we'd check with UK publisher Eidos, owned by SCi. We've been told we're getting a response "ASAP", so you can stay right there on the edge of your seat.
If true, the news won't come as a surprise. Despite lower-than-expected review scores, the game has sold over a million units since its release in November 2007.

A Kane and Lynch: Dead Men demo is now available to download from the XBOX Live Marketplace. The same demo was available to download on the PlayStation 3 from the PlayStation Network earlier this month.
At 520MB, the demo lets gamers play the first level of the game in single player and co-op modes. The dashboard description for the demo is: "From the creators of Hitman, hard-edged criminal action with explosive squad based combat. Single player and Co-op."
