Yesterday, a six-year old boy stole his parents' car after missing his school bus. The ingenious lad was determined not to be late for school and figured breaking several laws was a fair exchange (I'm sure that makes sense for children ages 6 to...I don't know, 48). Circuit City Stores Inc. this week price cut select titles for Microsoft Corp.'s Xbox 360 in a new game sale.

This week the retailer is selling Activision Inc.'s Quantum of Solace at $44.99, down $15 from the MSRP. Additionally, it is selling Rockstar Games' Grand Theft Auto IV at $39.99.

Circuit City is concurrently holding a video game clearance sale that discounts select titles to $9.96 this week.

Retailer Amazon.com on Thurs. discounted select titles for Microsoft Corp.'s Xbox 360 in a new game sale.

The retailer price cut Xbox 360 titles by up to 50 percent, including Bioshock at $23.99, Grand Theft Auto IV at $29.99, Halo 3 at $39.99, and Left 4 Dead at $49.99.

Take-Two Interactive Software, Inc. today announced that it has established a new incentive compensation program for the Rockstar Games label that is primarily based on a profit sharing arrangement, and at the same time has entered into new long-term employment agreements with members of the creative team of its wholly-owned Rockstar Games publishing label. The software tie ratio for Grand Theft Auto IV is the "highest it has ever been" for the franchise, Take-Two chair Strauss Zelnick said during the UBS Global Media and Communications Conference.

Citing U.S. NPD sales data through early October 2008, he said the GTA IV software tie ratio for PS3 was 32 percent, and Xbox 360's (which has a larger installed base in the U.S.) was 28 percent.

"Our tie ratio for Grand Theft Auto IV illustrates the strength of the franchise," said Zelnick.
