EA may incorporate voice command mechanics into its future console RTS games, if Ubisoft's EndWar proves a success.

Speaking to VideoGamer.com Command & Conquer 3: Kane's Wrath associate producer Jim Vessella said that "all console RTS developers are working together and trying to borrow ideas from each other".

He continued: "I am very excited to see how well that voice command works for the RTS genre. I would actually say that we'll probably see how they do and try and investigate if utilising the voice command is also a good advantage for our future games too. We're all learning here which is the cool thing about the time that we're in. All the developers for console RTS are working together and trying to borrow ideas from each other."
EA has confirmed that the Command & Conquer series is merging with the first-person shooter genre in a new title called Tiberium.

The publisher was short on details, but it did tell us that the game is penciled in for a late 2008 release. Official images aren't expected until early next year, but there are scans already doing the round as additional details have appeared in Game Informer magazine.

The game will be a squad-based shooter set 11 years on from the third Tiberium ...
13 games from veteran RTS series Command & Conquer are being squeezed into a new PC compilation pack.

Command & Conquer Saga, as the pack is called, includes the recently released C&C 3: Tiberium Wars and indeed more GDI and Nod warfare than you can shake Kane's goatee at.

To date, the Saga pack has only been confirmed for North America with an October release at $49.99. Still waiting on EA for any word on European release plans.

EA has spilled first details on the first expansion pack for Command & Conquer 3 in episode one of its Battlecast Prime Time show focussing on the RTS. The expansion's called Kane's Wrath and is due out in 2008 and will release simultaneously on PC and Xbox 360.

Producer Jim Vessella had this to say:
"And if it is new units and faction content you desire, we're not going to disappoint. We'll have new units, upgrades, powers and structures for each of the core factions and each faction will also have two sub-factions. These sub-factions will also come with their own modified units, unique powers and upgrades and each one will cater to a specific play style allowing players to really find the side that's best for them".

Vessella added that Kane's Wrath will feature 24 new multiplayer maps, and that the Xbox 360 version will also sport the Radio Interface, which allows players to manage their base from anywhere on the map.
Nevertheless, as one of Electronic Arts's more narrative-driven franchises, the story is something fans take note of. 1UP knows as well as anyone fans can get a bit hardcore with their nitpicking.
Over on the official C&C3 forums, folks have been critical over various plot inconsistencies in the series. Command & Conquer 3 executive producer Mike Verdu took a timeout to address the concerns.
Its been a dozen years since the Global Defense Initiative and The Brotherhood of NOD started battling for control of the world, and the forces of evil still wont go down. Armed with a shiny head and an all black wardrobe - that screams "I'm the bad guy" - the malevolent psychopath Kane is on the rise again.
The GDI and NOD have a pretty good reason to fight. Their excuse for going to war, as if one were ever needed in Command & Conquer, is the ballyhoo surrounding the Tiberium crystals that have poisoned Earth, rendering the majority of the planet as inhospitable as Milton Keynes. The GDI have secured all the nice bits for right-thinking citizens everywhere, leaving whacko leather-fetishist cult The Brotherhood of NOD to languish in the bad old ...
PC gamers have been hammering it for weeks, but on Friday Xbox 360 owners will finally get their grubby mitts on EA's third, long-awaited Command & Conquer installment.

If EA chatter is anything to go by, Xbox 360 might not be the end of C&C3's console campaign either: "We haven't officially confirmed anything, but I don't see why it's not feasible," Senior Producer Mike Glosecki said of a PS3 version, in an interview with Gameplayer. "The controls are practically the same."

EA's revival of the Command & Conquer series on PC has unsurprisingly proved a resounding overseas success, with Tiberium Wars holding the number one spot in England's Chart Track all-formats chart for two weeks running.

Whether or not the Xbox 360 version of the RTS will experience the same success we'll discover as of May 11 - which is the release date now confirmed for the console iteration in EA's release ...
Now is a very good time to be a fan of real time strategy. With top tier titles hitting the market faster than our hard drives can keep up with them, we've entered a golden age for the RTS genre. But no matter how deep Supreme Commander, or how authentic Company of Heroes, one franchise has the potential to overshadow all newcomers in name alone... Command & Conquer.

Earlier this week, while attending the launch party for Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars on PC, we managed to corner three of ...
Think back to your first visit to the Tiberium Universe. The first time your Commando made a kill left-handed. The moment when your APC of engineers humiliated your enemy by capturing their base. Most likely it was a long time ago, back when the RTS genre consisted of but a handful of early hopefuls, all expanding the real-time gameplay pioneered in Dune 2. Command and Conquer lead the charge, popularizing the RTS genre and introducing the world to the timeless battle between the GDI and ...
Real-time strategy is back - the surprising success of Battle for Middle-earth II on Xbox 360 (a console?!) proves that the audience and demand for these games have never been bigger. What better time, then, for an original king of the genre to make its return? Command & Conquer 3 Tiberium Wars is hoping to do just that, hitting Microsoft's console early this spring.

The series is returning to its past PC roots, too. The super militaristic Global Defense Initiative (GDI), with its mammoth ...
