Wii U will be in stores this November, claim retailers

Nintendo is targeting a November 18, 2012, North American launch date for the Wii U. At least, this is the latest rumor stemming from the leak of two separate pieces of retailer correspondence; both of which indicate Nintendo's next console will land at least one month before the holiday season.

Wii U's alleged launch date was first posted to WiiUDaily. The site claimed it received an email from Japanese retailer Media Land confirming the Wii U will arrive in North America on Sunday, November 18, 2012, followed by a launch in Japan one week later.

That date was again mentioned in this internal GameStop email obtained by IGN:

Nintendo historians will recall the company launched its GameCube in North America on November 18, 2001, and released the Wii five years later on November 19, 2006. A similar date for the Wii U would match Nintendo's M.O., but that could also be the same logic driving these latest rumors.

Only rumor I want to here about is price, so I can know how much to save up.

Apparently, the people at IGN don't know how to take a screen capture.

YOU try being that incompetent and working at the gaming worlds equivalent of Fox News. They can't be bothered with things like "professionalism" and "accountability". They are to busy posting articles on unsubstantiated buzz.

You know that IGN is literally owned by News Corp? So that explains that.

I really want to be happy for Nintendo ~.~ but this is stacking up to be the Wii 2.0 any way you cut it. Yeah it will compare to this gens consoles but the WiiU is Nintendos entry into NEXT GEN.... not this gen. Its probably going to have some decent support in the short term but once the Orbis/720 roll out that support is likely to jump ship. Its obvious that Install base does not trump hardware standards because the Wii has one of if not the largest install bases but the worst 3rd party support.

honestly I don't really see a problem here most tvs only go up to 1080p so its not like the other consoles will kill it, like I still use a tv from the 90's so its not like the extra graphical power will be used on most games for orbis/720 because it would be a waste for now, also never has hardware determined the quality of a game like I rather play SMB for nes then CoD since its a better game.

This is the only rumor that has been floating around that I believe. Not because the source is creditable or anything but because Nintendo loves that mid November/Black Friday launch window. All the other ones about its specs and price I will completely ignore since no one will know til E3. I'll definitely be getting one as soon as I can walk by a shelf and see it. No line waiting for me.
