What would Indiana Jones make of Uncharted 3? Watch Harrison Ford play as Nathan Drake

What's Han Solo doing playing Uncharted 3? Oh, right - it's Harrison Ford, who also played Indiana Jones - the clearest logical inspiration for Nathan Drake in the Uncharted series. Got it. So no Ewoks? No. Good. With that clarified, it appears Sony's managed to snag the rightly famous actor and film him playing the new game for a series of commercials in Japan. His verdict? Well, see that for yourself!

It's funny to watch Indiana Jones play a videogame. Especially hat-less like this. There are actually a series of short adverts showing footage from this Han's on time (yes, folks, I'm here all week), although you'll likely have to view them on YouTube because Sony of Japan have region-locked their site. Cos stopping people watching videos is absolutely how you make them go viral.

You can tell by his face that he is clearly NOT enjoying the game (or is that how Indy looks these days).

The new age of gaming it seems... Celebrity endorsments for the win! Harrsion Ford and Lance Henriksen would have to be the most classy of the bunch.

Was he playing co-op or a Solo campaign?

Harrison Ford looked just like my 10 year old son playing games for about 80% of that video. Eyes glued, not blinking, slightest hint of drool from gaping mouth. Then again, I probably look the same way playing games, too.

Can't stop thinking that he is a payed actor, I'd much rather have a commercial showing gameplay.

We named the dog Indiana. *Feel free to change the strapline now*

Met him in Las Vegas, ... Well at lease a wax effigy of him. Love Harrison Ford. The Real Nathan Drake.

He pierced his ear?! Well aside from that I'm impressed with him able to talk and play a video game. I can't do that.^^

Very interesting, he's also surprising good at articulating his thoughts while focusing on playing the game.

@SiCkB It's cause the lights turn on when you turn it off in Japan.

I love Harrison as an actor but it looked like they gave him a list of things to say on top of his own impressions. Best part, *looks around* "and if there weren't a bunch of people around it would be real exciting" Lmao

This made my morning. Harrison Ford has always been a hero of mine, and by far my favorite actor. If there was one celebrity I could meet I would want it to be him. As much as I love Star Wars, it pales in comparison to my love of Indiana Jones, and seeing Indy play as Nathan Drake is almost more than I can handle.

  • fattoler - October 19, 2011 4:16 a.m.

Why is it that nearly everything I've read this week talks about Star Wars and mentions Ewoks specifically?

Think of it like a national tragedy, never forget.
