Watch two deleted cutscenes from Vanquish

Do you wish that Vanquish was a little bit longer? Developer PlatinumGames has just released some extra footage that was removed from the final game. Check out the two deleted scenes and commentary PlatinumGames’ Kunihiko Tsuda. It’s pretty neat to see these cinematics at such an early stage without the extra polish.

The translated commentary below each video comes from Siliconera:

Above: The first deleted scene

“We were originally going to use this cutscene after you fight the Argus for the first time. Since there were quite a few cutscenes in this part of the game, and this particular scene feels rather subdued, we determined it would slow down the game and did little to make the game feel alive, so we cut it.”

Above: The second deleted scene

“This scene was originally going to play once you exit the tunnel in Act 1. However, once out of the tunnel, this movie was simply too long and moving it to gameplay was the best way to make the game feel alive… So we cut it.”

hmm, well, it was a reasonable choice the director made I guess. I mean the game keeps its momentum with action, so don't wanna have any walls of "long talk" or "follow the story for awhile" I guess. Although those story telling cut scenes never bother me, some may find it annoying I guess. good game.

As short as this game was it was still bloody good and in my opinion the loss of these two scenes definitly kept the pace a bit more frentic there are very few places in the game for breather after all

    They're both the same.
