The Walking Dead pre-order contest offers zombie cameos

If you've ever longed for a life of quiet walks, open sores, and bloodthirsty cannibalism, then Telltale Games has a deal for you! This week, the studio kicked off its The Walking Dead “Join the Cast” pre-order contest, inviting PC and Mac fans to buy early and enter for a chance to be included as a zombified cast member in a future episode.

The winner will appear briefly as a human in Episode 4, where they will be brutally murdered and reborn as a member of the game's undead herd. Four other runner-ups will be selected to also appear as background zombies; but remember, there are not bit parts, just bit zombies.

The promotion was launched to celebrate the arrival of Telltale's The Walking Dead episodic series, which will begin its 5-part season this April. The pre-order price is currently sitting at 10% off at $22.49 for all episodes on both PC and Mac. Those who pay an extra $20 will also receive Telltale's “Almost Everything Else” pack which includes eight other full games, including Back to the Future, Jurassic Park, Sam & Max Season 1- 3, and Strong Bad's Cool Game for Attractive People.

There's no word yet if Telltale has a similar pre-order incentive in store for PS3 and Xbox 360 zombie wannabees. Looks like the console fans will get to live another day, sadly.

I think I'm going to need a little more pre order incentives than just the option of killing myself. I'll be here all week.

If this plays anything like Jurassic Park (PLEASE GOD DON'T LET THEM RUIN ANOTHER FRANCHISE I LOVE) then it would be perfect for a Mac.
