I like fighting games. I really like this game, but I couldn't quite understand the "whys" of it all. This article seems as good a reason as any because I was also astounded at the level of complexity offered by just three buttons and the options there in. I need to branch out with other characters because half the battle is knowing what YOU can do, the other half is knowing what THEY can do. I love the mind games in fighters but 3D ones always rubbed me the wrong way except for this one. Anyway, I love reading your stuff. Keep at it.

Very good point. Anyone who thinks that 'crouch and jab' technique will work on Wolf is in for a nasty surprise! And thanks very much :)

i was surprised that i ended up liking this game as well because i hate every other 3d fighting game(partly because i use the d-pad which i prefer on xbox lol) except DOA.

I disagree with this article on the grounds that I suck at Virtua Fighter XD

Somewhere in the GR Towers, Hooters is shaking his head at this whilst looking longingly at his Street Fighter themed desktop background... Looks like a good game though this, would like to check it out!

Haha, not too far from the truth, though Hoots does appreciate VF's approach. Also, the game is crazy cheap so pretty easy to try out: £9.99 on PSN, or FREE if you've got PS Plus, for as long as your subsciption lasts. Amazing.

I feel like I missed out on a few good fighting games this generation. I wanted to try out Virtua Fighter again, but the Xbox 360 dpad has pretty much kept me away from bothering with fighting games (I don't like playing with the joystiq). Its good to hear that VF is still a good mix of simple and advanced.
