TalkRadar 69 – time attack!

Your Hosts:

The Topics:

Top 7… oddest Japanese videogame heroes – does it count as racist if they’re making fun of themselves?

Modern Warfare 2 hands-on – Tyler and Lizzie played it for hours. Want to hear about it?

Ballad of Gay Tony hands-on – four editors discuss the ups and downs of GTA returning to San Andreas-levels of silliness.

Scribblenauts reviewed – why give us all these choices when a jetpack solves everything?

Ask a games journalist! – new segment where we answer your questions about the games industry, from exclusives to events to inner workings

Question of the Week – What’s the first game you drove to buy yourself?

Contest winners this week:

Sick Puppies Street Fighter IV Contest – The Winners!

Dammit, you guys keep getting better and more creative with your contest entries, and it’s making them really hard to judge. As usual, we judged the entries on creativity and effort more than artistic ability, and came to the conclusion that (drumroll) lymanzaar and 5DollarFootlong are our winners! Congratulations guys! We also especially loved the entries from SausageLozenge, Bobbety, and AlpineGuy – well done, guys…we wish everyone could have won. You can see all of the entries in the forum thread. Check out lymanzaar’s winning animation below:

Winners: please shoot a private message to the GamesRadarPrizePig with your name and address. And be sure to mention what you won in the subject line, in case we forget…we do a lot of contests. And to anyone waiting to receive a prize: THEY’RE COMING! We promise we haven’t forgotten.

In the office

Above: The GamesRadar Monday Morning Meeting – when fun becomes intensely boring

Above: Joe snags another game-specific bathroom sign, bringing GR’s EXCLUSIVE bathroom sign total to two

Above: Unseasonably warm weather lured five editors out to the mysterious Bench Henge

In the community:

Above: MysteryDude proves that you don’t need finesse, you just need an idea

Above: And then Frootaloom proves that having an idea AND finesse really pays off. Well done!

I know I'm alone in this, but I actually liked tdar 69. I liked the experimentation- Brett was a pretty good host, everyone had good opinions, the Top 7 was very funny and the look at Modern Warfare 2 was very entertaining. My only complaint would be that there wasn't enough use of the Bill and Ted '69' sound clip.

    Somebody tie down Lizzie, haha!
  • mastersword369 - September 21, 2009 9:26 p.m.

this is the funniest tdar in recent memory! A great episode to introduce a friend to tdar with. And i'm sorry Antista, but it was funnier without you this time around.

Obviously disappointed at shorter cast and lack of Chris, but eh, it's still T-dar.

  • TheWebSwinger - September 19, 2009 1:29 a.m.

Stupid iTunes subscription delay. Can't wait to listen though.
  • Frootaloom - September 19, 2009 1:14 a.m.

This is 69 minutes of talkradarness that they didn't have to do so I'm pleased with what I can get. I also have very low standards so that doesn't say much.
  • WaffleLeech - September 19, 2009 12:09 a.m.

69 minutes is a little short, but maybe I'm just spoiled. Can't wait to listen, though
  • CH3BURASHKA - September 18, 2009 10:08 p.m.

  • TURbo - September 18, 2009 7:35 p.m.

For Podcast 76 could you invite Dan Amrich, so he can talk about Interstate 76, and it would be a 1 yr anniversary from his podcast appearance in podcast 26.
  • gatornation1254 - September 18, 2009 7:18 p.m.

Wow I actually think this is a great idea.
