Under normal circumstances this article about a new Sonic Generations trailer would be written by our resident Sega mentalist Justin. But Justin is 'busy' working on something else before he buggers off for a two week holiday. Selfish git.
So I've got to write it instead. I won't lie. I was never mad into Sonic. Of course, I know that he's a blue hedgehog that can run real fast on loop-de-loop courses while collecting gold rings and bashing robotised animals. And this trailer looks like all of that is still happening. So... I guess that's a good thing, right? It does look real pretty I s'pose. Look at it:
Sonic! Running! Yay! But Sonic Generations surely has to be Sonic's last roll of the dice. Dude has had enough second chances. If he blows this, then that's it. I sit next to Justin and I can't bear to see him have his heart broken by this grinning icon of 90s gaming all over again. It's too painful. It's also irritating because it's getting a bit boring.
And he's already been sucked in. He's daring to dream that Sonic Generations is going to be The One. After watching this trailer his eyes went all twinkly, mumbled something about rings and started humming the Green Hill theme. It was a very post-coital vibe.
