Smash Bros. alternate costumes - Super Smash Bros. Wii U Weekly

Today, Nintendo revealed that the new character (of sorts) for Smash Bros. Wii U/3DS--a male version of the Wii Fit Trainer! We're guessing that it's not a real, fully character. Instead, it's likely a huge pallet swap, but that's sort of unprecedented in the series. It opens up so many doors, and this week we discuss them!

Super Smash Bros. Wii U Weekly is GamesRadar's weekly Super Smash Bros. Wii U show. Yeah, we bet you figured that out already. Come back every Wednesday for the latest news, analysis, and speculation about the upcoming brawler.

Palette swaps are always fun, I would like to see Link turn into Dark Link since I love the Zelda series. Also Henry and Cooper lost weight, good job what ever you're doing to get into shape :). Caption: " It's always the person you least suspect.

So Charlie Barratt is now confirmed for the next Smash Bros? Interesting..... And it's clear that what makes a new character so hard is building a new, and balanced, moveset. So just a different costume should be fairly easy, especially considering how many pokemon and trophies they include. Extra costumes just mean a small increase in the amount of 3D characters they have to render over all.

a new costume is not a palet swap, example: luigi in mario 3 is a palet swap, luigi in mario 2 is not

Proto Man for Mega Man Dr. Mario for Mario (With special pills and everything) Raichu for Pikachu (Raichu needs more love, seriously) Fierce Deity Link for Link (if Young Link isn't in the game) Classic Sonic for Sonic (Voiced by Jaleel White) "But if someone tried to touch you in a place or in a way that makes you feel uncomfortable, that's NO GOOD"

Sonic to Metal Sonic anyone? Tell me that wouldn't be cool. Honestly.

Awesome customes It is vast of the possibilites, BUT there is one little thing that makes the male trainer different from others in the pallete swap, and its the NAME, "Wii Fit Trainer" can represent both genders, making this a special exception, im only saying this because we dont want to have our hopes high only to derail that not everyone will get an alt. The possibilies are gonna be awesome but still. In a technical sense, we would have FOUR Links. Twilight/Skyward and Windwaker/Linkbetweenworlds

I'm with you, although some of these still work, like Pokemon trainer or Villager. I think whole different characters is a bit of a stretch, so I doubt we'll see Birdo as a Yoshi skin.

Yeah, otherwise different outfits, like Wario had in Brawl could work, aka maybe we can see the return of Doctor Mario

I really hope they don't do anything like that. They don't make any sense and they're really weird.
