Resident Evil 6 lets you play as the zombies

Capcomannouncedtoday that Resident Evil 6 will introduce a new mode into the series that will turn the tables on the traditional Resident Evil theme of sexy-people-kill-ugly-undead. Now you'll get to take control of a zombie and enter into other players' games to try to take them down in a mode not terribly different from the multiplayer in Dark Souls.

Don't worry though, trolls wont be infecting your single-player game. The real-zombie mode will only be available on your second playthrough of a level. Which ensures that all the players know the level fairly well, and that nobody has the experience ruined by the cruel denizens of the internet.

We're really curious to see how this ends up playing out. Most of the zombies we've seen in RE6 trailers have ambled slowly in the player's direction, which doesn't sound terribly fun to play. It's fun to shoot them, sure, but probably not as fun to be the one ambling slowly. Let's just hope the giant snake is a playable character. We'd like to play as a giant snake.
