Reggie Fils-Aime tours his Animal Crossing: New Leaf home

Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime invites us into his well-appointed home in this new official video. He takes us through his spacious living room, his well-stocked kitchen, and even his traditional Japanese-styled bedroom.

Oh, and it's in Animal Crossing: New Leaf. Steer clear if you're afraid of Full Home Expansion/Decoration spoilers.

Animal Crossing: New Leaf came out on June 9 in the U.S., breaking eShop day-one sales records. And here's Reggie Fils-Aime, breaking our tenuous belief that we could somehow live without Reggie-face bedsheets.

This video is so charming. I don't know why, but even after watching Reggie hype us up at the Wii U reveal's conclusion only to be massively dissapointed when it turned out they were ending with Nintendo Land Fireworks, I still can't help but love the guy. He's so lovable. Why? It brings up a question, though... Did Reggie actually play up to this point and create his own home like this, or was this all just prepped for him to talk over for the pure marketing? I'm leaning toward the latter, but I think it'd be really cool if he actually plays the games he represents, and if this was actually him showing what he's been doing in Animal Crossing.

A company higher up playing a game while not being suckish at it!? This I gotta see!

"My sitar skills are legendary". Yes Reggie, that one note was truly fantastic ;) But I agree, catching fish is so much easier when listening to the sounds rather than watching the lure! Gotta love the fan service in this vid :)

My body is ready too Reggie! My body is ready too!!! This game certainly looks interesting and fun, although I'm not sure if I'll pick it up. I've heard that the game is pretty much the same Animal Crossing game as all of he others with more items and the like. I stopped playing Animal Crossing for the GC from lack of interest, so I don't want to spend $35 on a game I'll only play for a few days.

  • StrayGator - June 21, 2013 2:21 p.m.

Now watch this again, imagining this is not a publicity video narrated by a nintendo executive, but a random grownup giving you a tour of his virtual dollhouse in a straight, calm voice.
