PS3 "volume" production begins

A company called Foxconn (Hon Hai Precision Industry) is preparing its troops for "volume production" of PS3 consoles after the firm received certification from Sony for its production.

The Chinese Commercial Times quotes sources at Taiwan-based component makers as saying that Foxconn is expected to begin volume production of PS3 in the second half of this year in order to meet strong demand as Christmas approaches. Let the jokes about unsold units begin now.
