it's a BUG-type. Just my educated speculation. or maybe a FLYING type (has something to do with butterflies). Eeveelution names have a lot to do with their type. Syl from sylph is not convincing to me. if its name is derived from sylph, why not name it sylpheon? what about the "v" in sylv? are we just going to ignore that? i don't think so. i say it's a bug type because of its international names: 1. ENGLISH name: Sylveon - butterfly bows and bug-eyed look. there's a butterfly species named "parthenos sylvia." en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Parthenos_sylvia 2. FRENCH name: Nymphali - derived from "Nymphalidae" - largest family of diurnal butterflies. 3. GERMAN: Feelinara - derived from a german board game "Feelina," which involves butterflies. amazon.co.uk/Selecta-AG-3592-Feelina-selecta/dp/B001AZAG26 www.selecta-spielzeug.de/index.php/selecta_en/produkte/spiele/familienspiele/feelina 4. JAPANESE: Ninfia - possibly derived from Ninfa, which is a butterfly garden conservatory. or, "nymph" meaning an insect larva. having said these, aside from it being a possible Bug-type, it could also be a Flying-type because butterflies can flutter and fly. or choosing the very obvious, it could be just a Normal-type. you never know. we can always speculate.

Has anyone else noticed that Ninfia looks like Milotic?

well my best eevee memory. i remember making an eeveelution OU team once. it was hilarious i swept a few matches by baton passing a ton of boosts from umbreon and leafeon to flareon.

My most vivid Eevee memory is playing that awful browser game on Pokemon dot com a year or so ago to get the Eeveelution of my choice. I wanted Glaceon, and boy was that a pain to endure. Other than that, finding the one in Red/Blue that's just sitting there for the taking was pretty cool too.

Great one guys! This is exciting, its hard to say WHAT this new Eevee is, in my opinion it looks flying and its color scheme matches that of Skyla. Its a bit pushing it suggesting a new type but heck, why not, HYPE. However, its gonna need a major re-balancing if it is. Im happy Pokemon Rumble is getting a 3rd Game, its very underrated. Pokemon Rumble Blast seems "okay" to "meh" for first timers, but having played the original on Wii ware, HOLY SHIT was Rumble Blast an improvement in every single way, i would give it an 8, maybe even 9 but that would be pushing it. Anyways, i cant wait for the Wii U game and i cant wait what they'll do.

In the past, the eeveelutions have always visually matched up with their typing... For me that rules out dragon type. I would guess that it's going to be fighting or flying. Fighting because of its ribboned/ robed design and fairly dull coloring. Which is somewhat similar to Mienshao in 6th gen. Flying, again because of the wispy ribbons, but also because flying type can almost be considered a pseudo wind typing. All of the other eeveelutions have had "elemental" typing, (psychic and dark are a stretch, I know.) and I think it's somewhat logical to consider "wind" as another elemental force...

Love you guys, love the podcast. Don't let the Pokefreaks get on your case. On the subject of adding names for the types of different pokemon "packs", I don't see the point really. Most Pokemon are already based on some type of animal, so there's no reason for you not to just use what that animal uses already. For example, I could have a murder of Murkrows. Or a murder of Honchkrows.

    >Plant-Type >"What type is Skitty?" Argh... This is really painful to listen to. J-Fid is right. It's difficult to care about this podcast when the hosts don't really know much about Pokemon. I appreciate that you're trying, but is there honestly NO ONE ELSE on GR staff who actually knows about Pokemon...?
  • GR HollanderCooper - February 12, 2013 6:22 p.m.

Watch yourself before I smash my EV trained Mewtwo (hacked out the ass) against you.
  • shawksta - February 12, 2013 8:41 p.m.

Hey, when your in a unplanned chat show, you can forget things and you cant expect to remember every single pokemon and their typing, at times im thinking of a typing i simply cant remember, just a week ago i forgot Heracross was part fighting
  • J-Fid - February 12, 2013 8:52 p.m.

I think you could have come up with a better example than Heracross, a Dual Type. Skitty is obviously a Normal type. I, for one, can't comprehend how one forgets that.
  • pinoklin - February 13, 2013 6:11 a.m.

i am a huge pokemon fan, and an avid competitive player, but i must say that these little things are forgivable as they give flavor to the podcast. also plant type is a perfectly valid, and possibly better name than grass.
  • J-Fid - February 12, 2013 5:26 p.m.

I like listening to these, but it can be a little difficult to listen to the non-opinionated parts when I know so much more about Pokemon than anyone I'm listening to. On topic, I think Ninfia (or as it will probably be named in the U.S., Ninfeon) will be either a Poison or Dragon type. It's name could contain the word Ninja and if that flower that was mentioned in the podcast is poisonous, that would justify a Poison type. More likely, it might be a Dragon type. All of the Eeveelution types are ones that were originally Special only (before the Gen IV split). The only one not yet covered is Dragon. This could also explain why there is only one new evolution. Best Eevee memory? While on the GTS in my Platinum version (when I first was able to use the GTS), I came across someone who was offering a Shiny level 1 Eevee, holding a Master Ball. All that person wanted was a Flygon, and I was more than willing to give that up. That Eevee became the main guy on my new Platinum team I was building, and now he is a level 100 Shiny Espeon.
  • DarthEnderX - February 12, 2013 6:27 p.m.

I think...that they're adding a new type that's going to contain all the cute moonstone type evolutions(Jigglypuff, Clefairy etc.) and this new Evee is going to be that type.
  • shawksta - February 12, 2013 8:47 p.m.

Yes but the majority of them are the ONLY pure Normal types you know. "Cute moonstone type evolutions" What is Nidoking and Nidoqueen XD
  • pinoklin - February 13, 2013 6:14 a.m.

no, a new type would break the already fragile balance in the metagame, please not a new type!!!!!!
  • Chaoscoolperson - February 13, 2013 9:49 a.m.

I want new types, triple typed pokemon, and dual type moves, who cares about breaking a fragile balance! >:D
