Head-on collisions are generally something to be avoided in soccer, but don't tell Konami that. The publisher today announced PES 2014 will launch on Sept. 24 for PS3 and Xbox 360 in the Americas, the very same street date for EA Sports' rival FIFA 14.
PES 2014's worldwide launch remains undated, but if Konami decides to match FIFA 14's launch on both sides of the Atlantic it would mean hitting stores on Sept. 27.
Kojima Productions' Fox Engine (AKA the guts behind Metal Gear Solid V) will debut in PES 2014: Konami's singing its football-rendering prowess from individually rendered blades of grass to improved collision detection. We're just hoping for a cardboard-box clad Arsenal Gear F.C.
The game is also planned for launch at an unspecified date on PC and PlayStation Portable, but not for PS4, Vita, or Xbox One.
