Awesome article Henry! The Persona series always interested me but I never got a chance to play any of it. Still hoping for a 360 release of some of the main games but I doubt it will happen.

Wow, thanks Henry. I was looking for a clean-cut explanation of the series. Well done

would love a Shin Megami Tensei HD collection of some sort for the PS3. that'd be awesome.

I constantly kick myself for not picking up Strange Journey at Best Buy for $15 when I had the chance...

Eh, title's a tad misleading, but not the end of the world. I would have put Nocturne on the recommended list as well, it being a very underrated unique rpg.

You know I have a copy of Innocent SIn just begging to be finished.

I love how the first three and arguably better games were glossed over, not that I hate the new ones(I like them to) but if you are going to do a primer on a series don't skip on any info just to get to the more popular stuff heck I would even say do the guide on the unpopular games because you just gave people info they might be familiar with and left them knowing nothing about the ones they nothing about. Like in the one paragraph you did about the first 3 games you didn't even mention that there are 2 versions of P2 you just said they didn't release IS and ignored Eternal Punishment.

I think Henry focused in P3 and P4 because their characters are the ones that are in arena. Although yeah, it would have been nice if there was a bit more info about 1 and 2.

I understand that but it is misleading to call it a series primer when 3/5 of the series isn't covered in detail, it would be easier and more straightforward to call it a quick recap of 3 and 4. I really don't think it would be hard to give quick character page and description of Persona/2 IS/EP I could do it in ten minutes or less for all 3. P1 I understand because you basically pick your team so some characters aren't fleshed out well but with P2 it is really easy to describe the characters.

Oh, who gives a fuck, honestly. "Waaah, he didnt pay attention to different versions of my favorite niche RPG that nobody played! Waaah! Im special because I know about it and no one else does!" Who cares? Really? P4 arena is coming out. Based on P3 and P4, the BETTER games in the series. Yeah, I fuckin said it. Better climb out from under the bridge, troll.

Dude I know about a thing called opinions which is why I said arguable the better games, I know not everyone shares my opinions which is why I don't treat them like fact. So yeah in this case you are the troll by outright claiming something with no rhyme or reason why. Also I never said anything about how I am special because I played them. You have a lot of room to talk seeing as you are butthurt seeing as your beloved FF7 never gets on any of the Best of lists on this site, I am pretty sure you would be slandering Henry's good name if he did a FF primer and ignored every game before FF11. In case you didn't realize I know the whole series well already so I didn't need this to begin with, I just made a comment about how huge chunks are missing if this is supposed to be a series primer not a game primer.

lol, ok kid. This was made because persona 4 arena is coming out. It doesnt have characters from the first two games. Really not a hard concept to get.
