@Felixthecat: Allowing videogames to fall under government regulation means that they are not protected under the First Amendment (Freedom of Speech) as defined as our constitution. No other entertainment medium (save pornography) endures this type of government scrutiny, so we are not keen to have it start now. Besides, we yanks have always been rebels haven't we?

19%??? Thats probably a lower percentage than underage kids being able to buy booze and cigs. Me and my buddies used to go to no more than two different places before we found someone that would sell to us. 1 out of 5 ain't bad. Who pays PTC "agents" anyway? It better not be my damn taxes

Being English, I don't get this outcry over this law that is supposed to be getting a hearing next week or whatever. I honestly don't see how it would effect how anyone makes, or plays games. Someone care to inform me?

"The industry’s PR spin about how ratings empower parents is specious if unaccompanied minors are able to purchase adult-rated games," said PTC president Tim Winter in a statement. that right there show's his ignorance, consoles don't even carry adult-rated games highest they go is M-rated. And I'll say it again violent games don't make people violent. they just get used as a scapegoat when the kid had mental problems to begin with
