OXM cages Tony Hawk

Skatefans, take note: The October 2006 issue of Official Xbox Magazine hits newsstands today, complete with a detailed, six-page hands-on report on the Birdman's latest offering, Tony Hawk's Project 8. Built from the ground up for the Xbox 360 and next-gen hardware, one of THP8's biggest innovations is a new mode called Nail the Trick. Bust an ollie and, while airborne, the controller's analog sticks become your skater's feet. Flick them to perform real-time kickflips and spins, then line everything up again to land correctly and carry on with your combo. It's truly a fresh take on tricks that you haven't seen in earlier Tony Hawk games.

There's also information on the game's multiplayer modes, open-world challenges, sadistic bail goals and other fun stuff. Catch up on Project 8 withthe GamesRadar preview, then run - we said run, dammit - to your nearest magazine seller to getthe latest issue of OXM (which not only includes an Xbox360demo of F.E.A.R. butalso comes with free THP8 stickers). It's on sale right now.
