No More Heroes strategy guide: Kill the killers

Bad Girl

That bit with the bike was really satisfying wasn’t it? Like depth-charging a shoal of already-sickly fish in a particularly small barrell. Don’t expect the fight with Bad Girl to be as simple though. But do expect it to be a lot of fun. It’s one of the best one-on-one battles in the whole game.

  • In terms of positioning, stay at the bottom of the room near the batting cages. That'll give you much more time to react when she starts firing gimps at you later in the fight. (No, we never thought we'd ever see that sentence either) Let Bad Girl come to you and keep her at middle-distance so that you can quickly take advantage of her recovery times.
  • When she does her vertical slash attack, just roll to the side and retaliate. The move can break through your defenses pretty easily if it hits, but on the flip-side it can leave her heavily prone while she recovers. In the second half of the fight it will create a shockwave just like Destroyman%26rsquo;s Smash, so get ready to roll back quickly before following up in the same way you did with him.

  • If she winds up a vertical attack by swinging her bat around at her side, it%26rsquo;s going to be a big one. It%26rsquo;ll hurt a lot if it connects, but if you avoid it you%26rsquo;ll have a great chance to dish out the damage.
  • When she retreats to the top of the room and starts launching those poor unsupsecting gimps at you from the conveyor belt, hold your ground and let her go. You can hit them back with your katana to damage her, but you%26rsquo;ll have to be quick. Your distance from her will help a lot though. Just be aware that towards the end of the fight she%26rsquo;ll start volleying them back, so get ready with a second hit and don%26rsquo;t get caught out.
  • When she falls on the ground and starts crying, be very cautious. She sometimes fakes it to lure you closer, and if she snares you then you%26rsquo;re dead on the spot. Look carefully at her. If she%26rsquo;s got one hand up to her face, she%26rsquo;s faking. If she%26rsquo;s holding her head in both hands, lay into her, and cackle madly as you do.
