New Zelda game. Link's got a train! See the trailer

Nintendo has revealed The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks game for DS. Instead of a boat, Link's got a train. On the back of the train is a cannon. So you could, for a laugh, say the new Zelda game is an on-rails shooter. Besides rolling out the standard "it will please long-time fans while keeping the game accessible to all DS owners", Nintendo has said absolutely squat all else about Spirit Tracks.

We could tell you that it looks every bit as sweet and lovely as Phantom Hourglass, but you can see that for yourself by watching the trailer. So, er, go ahead and watch the trailer already.

Nintendo was paying attention when you mentioned in an earlier article about zelda should go into the future. POWER! reCAPTCHA:Pickman on

You Lost me in the first 5 second when link was wearing a uniform that might as well say "i'm specail"

What are you people on? How the hell can you say anything good about a game with a flat faced retard boy driving a train around? What the hell man, what the hell. Are they just cashing in now? I can imagine the meeting on this one. "People are still eating out zelda shit straight from the porcelain bowl. I can't believe it. Shit, we did sailboats, what other outdated forms of transportation can we exploit?" "Dude, lol, what about a train." "No man, they aren't THAT stupid. Nobody is THAT stupid. There's no way they'd eat THAT garbage." ... and here we are. recaptcha: Supply points

Nintendo, Nintendo, Nintendo... WHAT WERE YOU THINKING?! Zelda USED to be my all time favorite gaming franchises. Twilight Princess, while a perfectly good game, didn't quench my thirst for an epic Zelda game. I loved Wind Waker and OOC, and all of the previous on earlier consoles (A Link to the Past being my favorite). But it's getting ridiculous Nintendo! I'm a hardcore Nintendo fan and have every console and hand-helds (besides the VB) i bought the Wii just for Twilight Princess. Nintendo! Get your thumb out of your ass and make true fans a REAL Zelda game. No motion controls, no cutsie little ANYTHING. We were promised the Zelda game we've been waiting for and got a decent action adventure game. Just my feelings.

Wow they really tried to advertise that gay boomerang thing and the train looked really retarded, nintendo is obviously trying to reach out to younger kids in their diapers. Phantom Hourglass was great and all, but this game looks bad

i do see much difference between a train and a boat in zelda, they're both kinda shite and really don't fit with link. but PH was amazing, and as much as i do miss epona in the last few zelda games this looks pretty damn good. new enemies, new(ish) weapons and some damn fine looking puzzles, it's not to shabby. as long as there's no more temples with time limits that you have to repeat several times over i'm happy.

A train? Oh well, won't keep me from buying this... The boss battle looked cool, though.

why add a little technology to zelda when you can just make it futruistic and quit wasting our f****** time?!
  • JoeMasturbaby - March 26, 2009 7:39 p.m.

A TRAIN!?!?!? whatever happened to Epona? i like roaming free in the Zelda worlds, not following some track. looks way to constraining for me, but the dungeons actually look great.

I'd like to see him ride a giant squirell with a minigun strapped to it's back.

And for their 2010/2011 release Link discovers airplanes. Hes skilled at: Horseriding Swimming Sailing Driving a Train So why not a plane damnit?
  • Danomeon - March 26, 2009 12:31 p.m.

Wow I'm shocked, is this some kind of april fools joke? Nonetheless, it looks good, even if the premise is a little on the "Wait, how technologically advanced is the zelda series?" side.
  • dreamgor - May 1, 2009 1:10 p.m.
