New Ocarina of Time 3D trailer reminds us it's not out for another month

Nintendo uploaded a new trailer for its Ocarina of Time remake today. Here it is! Sorry, there's not much else to say about it, other than we get a few more glimpses of adult Link and Ganondorf. We're still digging the improved graphics, though it would have been nice if some of the lesser enemies recieved as hefty a makeover as Link, Zelda and Ganon.

We compared the 3DS version to the N64 game last week, and also reported on news that this version will include a boss rush mode, optional tutorials and a mirrored Master Quest for players looking to make Ocarina an even longer experience. It's out June 19, right in the middle of the summer game drought, so we're preemptively excited for how excited we will be when it's the only worthwhile game out that week.

Aaaah I don't even have a 3DS right now, I probably won't be getting one for several months, but damn me if you will if I go out and get the game the day it's released so I can worship it until it settles nicely into the cart slot of a brand new 3DS. I love this game. I love MM. Please, oh PLEASE let them have a similar treatment for MM, even just a straight handheld port!

I wasn't going to get the 3DS until like August but when they announced this was coming in June, I saved up and bought it on Sunday. lol my brother flipped his shit when he saw the 3D

Oh hey sweet I really want this game, I played the hell out of the original and... *Looks at release date* Fuuuuuuuuuuuu

@shawksta so far I've only seen one game that looks remotely interesting to me, thus my comment. Once they put out more games that look good maybe then I'll consider it but I won't blow $250 because of one game now

I actually like that the characters haven't been totally remodeled. If they had, I feel like it would detract from my injection of pure nostalgia, and feel like I'm playing a different game to the one that I've loved for years. This way, it's still recognizable as Ocarina of Time, rather than Twilight Princess Portable.

@shawksta Hmm, maybe my comment didn't come out like I thought it would. I appreciate the info though. Damn interwebz. They need a sarcasm meter on here.

@Redeater What are you talking about? Nothings wrong with me, your agreeing with me, Super Mario 64 DS wasnt the awesome remake we all expected. Yes I know, the controls were bothering or atleast it is till you use the regular DS or DS Lite, the DSi's control pad was too thin and made controlling awfull.

I still think the character models aren't nearly as cleaned up as they could have been...Nintendo should have waited to up-rez it in HD for their next console. Unless, that's what they're planning on doing, too... Oh Nintendo, are you following Activision's lead?

I think people need to go back and play the N64 version. So freaken jaggedy, this is a huge improvement whether people see it or not. But yea, good point. This is coming out a few weeks after school ends so looks like im gonna be busy.

@shawksta Alright alright let's not say things we can't take back. I see no need to associate Super Mario 64 DS with games in general. What did gaming do to you?? Seriously though what game takes a masterpiece, adds on useless characters, shitty controls and FUCKING REWARDS the time you pissed away collecting stars by taking AWAY something from the original??? Do you know how mad I was when I collected all of those godamned stars and they took away my shiny triple jump???

Looks awesome,Good point brett, smart move for nintendo to release it on the game drought, it gives this game a better chance to shine than with other games stealing its spotlight it so deserves. @Redeater The regular DS isnt more powerfull than the N64, it makes them look better but the hardware isnt better, Super Mario 64 DS looks great, but the Original Had more hardware regardless, the 3DS however surpasses the N64 hardware is on par,if not, slighty better than Gamecube, Given its the same game and how you play is probably keeping you worried but this is a Better remastererd game than SM64DS, and you can count your pants it wont dissapoint given its extra features. @Rubberducky Its annoying hearing that crap over and over, Your better off getting the 3DS now than later when games that are worth buying it comes out so you dont have to win a lottery to get money for the games and 3DS.

Ugh... time to start saving up $250 I guess.
  • Redeater - May 4, 2011 12:49 a.m.

I hate to start this up again but I think my problem is that although I can clearly see the updated graphics I still think they are pretty damned ugly. I know I haven't seen them in 3D yet but I think that considering the original was released in 98 the graphics should have been a hell of a lot better. Is it just me? Maybe I'm expecting a little to much but from what I have seen the 3DS looks to be a slightly more powerful DS. Who am I kidding? I will be buying this game regardless of graphics. Ugh, why did the NES have to turn me into a life long fan boy??
  • SausageLozenge - May 4, 2011 12:46 a.m.

Nintendo deserves my money for Koji Kondo's score alone.
  • dcbernman - May 4, 2011 12:46 a.m.

The nostalgia... it pains me so...
  • kjdubz22 - May 4, 2011 12:17 a.m.

Now they just need to release an updated version on the Wii and I'll download it again...wait is Nintendo still even updating their Virtual Console?
  • Andyjoe - May 4, 2011 12:12 a.m.

This game is the number one reason I got a 3DS. I always thought it would be awesome to play Ocarina of Time on the go, and it doesn't look like this remastered version is going to disappoint.
  • Rubberducky - May 4, 2011 12:04 a.m.

Looks spiffy but still not enough to make me want to get a 3DS
