Who the HELL is that turian? I don't want to freak anyone out here, but it sure as hell isn't Garrus. Oh god, where is Garrus?! OK... OK. Let's calm down for a minute. Surely there's a reasonable explanation for this. It's probably just the stand-in palette-swap turian for assholes who imported a save where Garrus was dead. Right? BioWare wouldn't pull another Grunt on us, would they? I mean, we obviously know already that Garrus is in Mass Effect 3, so there's really nothing to worry about. Let's sooth our fears by looking at the other screens.

We know that a big part of Shepard's mission in Mass Effect 3 is recruiting the various alien races to join in the fight against the reapers, so it's also possible that this mystery turian is some Palaven leader who Shepard must convince of the threat to get the turians on board. It's also reassuring that Garrus can clearly be seen in another screen, so there's really nothing to worry about.

WTF guys, c'mon, slow down with the crazies theorys. He is not Garrus and absolutely not a replacement. It's just a Turian, probably a Militar in Palaven. He is not a squadmember, I can assure that. The squad will have ME1 and ME2 squadmembers, with only one new member confirmed, James Vega. We will have less members than ME2, probably 8 squadmembers. The squad will be totally dynamic: Some guys gonna be the entire game, others just a part of it. Now think with me, we have 13 members that could be dead in the beggining of ME3 (12 ME2 members + Wrex), two that only one can be alive (Kaidan / Ashley), one that will be undoubtful alive in ME3 (Liara) and a new guy (James Vega). We know that ME3 will be almost like a entire game suicide mission, anyone can die, anytime. What it mean? It mean that there's only one possible solution for Bioware: each player will have his own unique squad! Ex: Maybe my squad will have Garrus, but yours don't, instead will have Legion. We only can have for sure in or squad Liara, Kaidan/Ashley and James Vega. Who will become squadmember after that is up to us...

    >Blah Blah Blah why import save no garrus< Just let me sex him up already!
  • KolbitosFruitJuice - August 27, 2011 8:30 a.m.

Wha? There are other Turians besides Garrus? Never noticed. I thought he WAS the turian species
  • Spacegrass - August 27, 2011 12:35 a.m.

What makes you think he isn't Garrus? He looks like Garrus. He doesn't have the scars, but in a setting where the dead can be brought back to life, curing scars wouldn't be such a big deal.
  • LeandroBraz - August 29, 2011 10:48 a.m.

the face tatoo is different from Garrus, the armor is different from that one he is using in any other material, even the skin collor is different. I bet all my coins that it's a Militar from Palaven...
  • GamesRadarCarolynGudmundson - August 29, 2011 10:52 a.m.

Because he looks nothing like Garrus at all. Even if Garrus's scars were healed, his tattoos are totally different. If you knew anything about turian culture you'd know that a turian's facial tattoos signify the colony they're from, so it wouldn't make sense for Garrus to suddenly have totally different tattoos.

Why would you play Mass Effect without garrus makes no sense.
  • JamesGarfield - August 26, 2011 9:57 p.m.

You guys left out the Yellow Mystery Geth. WHAT IS THAT TANK ON ITS BACK? I MUST KNOW!!!
  • babyhenchy1 - August 26, 2011 8:29 p.m.

What was wrong with Grunt? Sure, he wasn't quite as good as Wrex but he was still a good character. Anyway, we've seen Garrus in trailers so I'm not worried :)
  • SomeoneSomeone - August 26, 2011 6:36 p.m.

It's likely the replacement if Garrus died in Suicide Mission. Course why would you import any game where Garrus (or Tali) died to begin with?
  • ShadowBroker23 - August 26, 2011 5:26 p.m.

Ooh! Ooh! It's that guy who won't give the human his refund in the citadel.
  • Clovin64 - August 26, 2011 5:22 p.m.

There will probably be some sort of "Alt" characters to replace your dead squadmates. But importing a save file without Garrus? Whats the point?
  • BlackElement17 - August 26, 2011 6:09 p.m.

Well they did set up a possible alt character for most of the cast during the ME2 loyalty missions. It could possibly be Garrus's brother set up in his Shadow Broker file.

They all look like scaly birds to me dammit. Intergalatic futuristic racism, oh yeah I went there.
  • BigLandoz - August 26, 2011 4:31 p.m.

People import save files with a dead Garrus? That's like importing a save file with a dead Wrex. What's the point? And I love the new image browser thing.
  • tareq - August 26, 2011 4:18 p.m.

Garrus isn't even that cool I can live without him
  • PhantomOfKrankor - August 26, 2011 4:18 p.m.

But Carolyn, what if he's better than Garrus?
  • Reaver_Beaver - August 30, 2011 9:06 a.m.

    You take that back!
