New Catherine trailer shows gameplay for the first time

The latest trailer for Atlus' sexually-charged upcoming title Catherine features the first  detailed footage of gameplay. It shows the game's protagonist, Vincent, running around in a way distinctly reminiscent of Ghost & Goblin's Sir Arthur. Also, like Capcom's famous knight, Vincent dies repeatedly as he makes his way through what appear to be 3D platforming sections involving spikes and block pushing.

The sheep that have been featured since the first trailer seem to be advising Vincent on the rules of the dream world he inhabits, offering him items and teaching him skills that are “the key to surviving.” The vignette at the end of the trailer features Catherine lying atop of Vincent telling him, “Yesterday was amazing. That was the first time I've ever done that. Are you going to make me say it? Fine, I mean sex.”

We're hoping harder than ever that Catherine is released outside of Japan.

I'm really kind of doubting this will be released in the US, it's just a little too much. That game doesn't just look like 'bate material, but the gameplay looks very fun, not to mention the art style. I will be the happiest little boy if it IS released here in the states.

I want it. I really want it. I kinda wish I had a PS3, just to get that version's box.

That is if it releases in the US. Which I really hope it does.

This looks really interesting. I think I might pick it up when it releases.

I'm hoping that Atlus releases this in Europe along with Trauma Team, Trauma Centre 2 and Strange Journey. Probably won't happen though.

I'm quite surprised they might not release this in the west, those characters look conspicuously non-Japanese.

Is it possible that its a platformer for only this sequence? It looks like its just one part of an entire dream. If this game is as weird as it portrays I'd be disappointed if there was only one gameplay form.

Normally I'm not a fan of puzzle-platformers, but there's the exception of the Ico/Colossus games that had that particular charm. I think this will have the ame charm. I like how those nightmare things seem to torment you as you struggle to solve the stage.

Did not expect a platformer, but I'm still interested. Just want this to be successful so that persona 5 gets made on PS3, not PSP.

Ooh, a platformer. Was not expecting a platformer from Atlus.

You know, somehow, since i saw the first trailer, i knew the game would be kinda puzzly, like this. I also guessed that one of your main objectives was to just go up...
