Mafia 2 number 1 in UK

The numbers are rolling in and Mafia II has emerged as the top-selling title last week in the UK. According to GfK Chart Track, Mafia II experienced the biggest UK game launch since the release of Red Dead Redemption.

Not surprisingly, the 360 version of the game was the most popular, accounting for 52% of total retail sales. The PS3 version accounted for 42%, but only 7% of the copies sold were the PC version.

Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days dropped down to number two on the charts, followed by Toy Story 3, Red Dead Redemption, and Wii Sports Resort. High sales for Wii Sports Resort was attributed to a Wii console bundle, which came with a copy of the game.

Calm down there, big jeff. Let's not just go throwing our punctuation around. @Tronto: Agreed. Hated the demo.

i was really dissapointed with the demo. it just seemed like everything was good but not great, i think it could have done with a bit more polish.

I'm glad to see this.Mafia 2 to me seems like a very well designed game and it's nice to see that gamers are taking an interest in the hard work that was put in the game's story and design!

Apparently Brits like gunslingers and gangsters.

I'm sorry but how is this news???? The summer is the deadest time of year so what else was suppose to give this competition???? Now if you said the game sold a million copies or 500k in one week than I think that would be considered news worthy. Being #1 during this time of year is like winning a beauty contest at a fat camp, who cares?
