Mad Max in-engine trailer rules the road

The lonely road is much lonelier by the end of this (surprisingly maudlin) Mad Max gameplay trailer. Not because he breaks up with his girlfriend or his dog dies or anything, just because he executes a bunch of marauders and blows up their cars. You know, apocalypse stuff.

The open-world game from Avalanche Studios, creators of the Just Cause series, doesn't star Mel Gibson, but it does have a whole lot of car combat and wide open wasteland to stake out for your own. And Max still has an Australian accent.

It's slated to arrive in 2014 on PS4 and Xbox One, as well as PC, PS3, and Xbox 360. Check out our E3 preview for more, wherein we may or may not go beyond Thunderdome.

I'm REALLY sad they aren't making Just Cause 3, or something more similar to it. Just Cause 2 is one of the most fun games of this generation. This just looks.. bland.

Sick! JC2 and Rage will go (hopefully) go GREAT together!! :'D If we got Avalanche making the game, and Mad Max's world to use, then this should be AWESOME!

Rage was more or less completely inspired by Mad Max though.

not really impressed, but then I guess that's to be expected to a psuedo-move tie in. Not to mention that it might have been held back due its cross gen. release. I hope to be proven wrong about this game, but ehhhhh... I dunno.

I agree, not too impressed. I liked Just Cause 2 but it wasn't the greatest. Hopefully it comes out good but we'll see.

Yea I got a lot of fun out of Just Cause 2, but by the time I finished the main story line, I felt like I had done everything there was to do. I can see Mad Max going the route of Far Cry 2... There was just nothing to do in a bland world. I'm not a whiner when it comes to graphics either, but when I game looks to be a mid-quality PS3/360 game and claims to be next gen... Well, that's just a silly thing to claim. Ah well, still plenty of other great games to look forward to, luckily.
