LittleBigRipoff: New iPhone game is begging for a lawsuit

We know the pace of those week-long iPhone development cycles can be rough, but surely you have time to come up with your own characters, or at the very least, run them past a attorney? Apparently not, since Superfall, an unremarkable gravity game from the makers of materpieces like Blimp and Annoying Sounds, thudded onto iPhone this week without a care as to its overwhelming resemblance to some of PlayStation’s most recognizable mascots.

Above: Yeah, a couple of stickers and calling them "Ragdolls" should keep Sony's lawyer's at bay...

Now, we're more than aware that the whole point of LBP is to create your own characters using provided textures and materials. But we highly doubt Media Molecule intended on allowing them to be ripped out of LittleBigPlanet to sell crap on iTunes for profit. Can't wait to see how this plays out!

I actually read 'superfail' when I glanced at that picture. Then I thought, that can't be right. But it's so close it might as well have been.

Not to mention that any indie developer can become a big name company after a successful title under their belt. Profit that maybe they didn't earn quite so honestly.

It may not play like LBP but it's obviously utilizing LBP's promotional style and popularity to attract attention to itself. There are grounds for some type of legal action there.

Are you guys serious?? This game is nothing like LBP. You really think that Sony would waste their time and money to sue some indie dev? Get real!

I wonder if they would sue the creators, or Apple for letting the thing go through in the App store? It would seem kind of fitting since Apple is suing almost 'everyone,' and an app can't get into the app store without being approved by Apple.

"Hey guys, I have an idea! Let's make a game that is nothing like a popular video game ,but looks like it! I haven't had any legal action in my life for a while.. I'm getting bored." "Me, too! How about Little big Planet? I can just use Photoshop and rearrange it a little." "Great! BRING IT ON, SCE!"

After "Modern Combat" and other such generic-sounding, carbon copy-looking games, I'm not surprised. The iPhone is the copycat of this generation.

I looked at the official website, and in the game they don't look anywhere near to the what they look like on the poster, imo. Still LittleBig Lawsuit?

They even look like they used the same blue color and white for the title, jjust reversed. Kinda really sad.
