Lara Croft fights a witch in Rise of the Tomb Raider's first story DLC next week
Two thirds of the triple goddess will collide in a no-holds barred grudge match next week, with Lara "The Ragin' Maiden" Croft in one corner and Baba "The Crone on the Throne" Yaga in the other. Microsoft Studios confirmed to Polygon that Baba Yaga: Temple of the Witch, the first new story DLC for Rise of the Tomb Raider since it came out in November, will hit Xbox One on January 26.
Baba Yaga follows on the dirt-caked heels of the Endurance Mode DLC, which lets players hunt for sustenance in the day and fight for their lives at night. Lara will follow a missing person into an unexplored Siberian forest in Temple of the Witch, culminating in a showdown with the legendary figure herself. Or maybe Lara's just tripping off all that hallucinogenic pollen floating around deep in the woods and she's actually killing more poor, innocent deer.
Both Endurance Mode and Baba Yaga: Temple of the Witch are sold as part of the Rise of the Tomb Raider Season Pass. Cold Darkness Awakened, which builds a familiar wave defense structure around a freaky Cold War weapons research narrative, will close it out later this year.

I got a BA in journalism from Central Michigan University - though the best education I received there was from CM Life, its student-run newspaper. Long before that, I started pursuing my degree in video games by bugging my older brother to let me play Zelda on the Super Nintendo. I've previously been a news intern for GameSpot, a news writer for CVG, and now I'm a staff writer here at GamesRadar.
