Johnny Quest aiming for cinemas

Will the adaptation of the ‘60s ‘toon finally hit the screen?

Johnny Quest is one of those projects that has been bobbing along on the Hollywood rumour foam for a long time. But now Warners and producer Adrian Askarieh believe it can make it onto screens.

Dan Mazeu is the man tasked with turning the 1960s cartoon – which saw the titular hero travelling the world with his scientist father, adopted brother, bulldog bandit and a handy government agent bodyguard and solving scientific mysteries – into a live-action film.

Could Johnny be Warners’ new kid-friendly franchise? Only time will tell, but first it really needs a finished script and that all-important greenlight.
