Last September, Bandai erected a giant life-sized Gundam statue in Shizuoka, Japan to celebrate the 35th anniversary of the series. The 18-meter mech towered over everything around it and was re-erected this past July with a nifty saber beam. The statue has been visited by millions, but impressive footage continues to roll in long after the mech was dismantled. YouTube user darwinfish105 has recently posted another awe-inspiring time-lapse video of the indomitable Gundam standing stoically as ephemeral clouds pulsate and pass by. It’s pretty trippy. Check it out.
