If Game Boy was the only console around

This is what our favourite games would look like

Gaming technology has come on so far in the short thirty years since Space Invaders and Pac-Man. But what if it hadn't? What if, say, Nintendo's first black and green-screened Game Boy was the only console that had ever existed?

A terrifying thought, indeed. But we reckon our favourite games would probably look something like this:

Bayonetta

FIFA World Cup 2010: South Africa

Modern Warfare 2

F1 2010

God of War

They actually look fun. Bring back the Game Boy, we say!

We'd still have Pokemon Gold and Silver. Gaming would still rock.

Lol at the MW2 one, they would still charge £2000 for a few maps

It hardly seems possible that games have been around for forty years, but I'm thirty-three, and I've been playing as long as I could hold a joystick, and they were around for a little while before me, so I guess that's right.

Well, there was SpaceWar in the 1960s... though Space Invaders was '78, I believe. I'm going with SpaceWar :)

I'm dissapointed in you gr. for not mentioning Okami in an article that clearly has the words "favorite games" in it.
  • GamesRadarJustinTowell - April 9, 2010 4:38 p.m.

Truth is, Kenzo, great though it is, I think everyone's sick of hearing about Okami now. You know it's great, I know it's great. Nobody else cares :)

Some of those look like pre-Game Boy games. The Game Boy had better graphics than that.

Okami is racist and sexist. Racist, I say!

Some of these actually look quite good. I ever only got to use the original gameboy for about a month. :(. The gameboy advance came out and i got one of those. I did love super mario on the gameboy though. It's what really got me into gaming. Even though i could only get up to 1-2. :P.

SOmething like a retro-revival would surely excite anyone who was on Gunpei Yokoi's original development team.

I would play me some of these. The Bayonetta one did not work out quite as well, IMO. I'd like to see a Shadow of the Colossus in 2D.

@JuliePeesgood Indeed. You misspelled your name, Ms. Peasgood.

I'd still play them! Dang, those Game Boy days sure feel like a long time ago...

Bayonetta one made me lol for no apparent reason. No Arkham Asylum though? Extended feature, we chorus!
