Okay, so I haven't played the Halo games so I don't know how likely this would be but how about... Master Chief is Sgt John Forge's son. Ages seem to fit judging from the comments already posted, perhaps MC was an unborn child when his father died at the end of Halo Wars, father obviously given some sort of medal in his honour, when MC is born he is named after his father in his honour. Also explains the resemblances in looks. But really, I have no idea how likely any of that could be - something for you halo fans to decide.

In the first Halo book "The Fall of Reach", it describes John being taken away from a dismal little back water colony to be used in the Spartan program. He spends the rest of his childhood training, and upon reaching adolescence, becomes a full fledged Spartan, and starts his career (Very much like "Ender's Game") as... well... a Spartan. Sorry to ruin the plotting and guessing =(

Do remember though that the "glitch" was in the beta... in other words multiplayer... as in not story... like not actually master chief... just random spartans... ReCAPTCHA: "Randall 91/2" I think is how I would write it. seriously though not a fucking clue

Erm completely lost me then again its relatively late in England so you would probably be able to confuse with a storyline from sonic the hedgehog. But i get what your saying on the is seargent john master chief it makes sense but i spose thats something for bungie to confirm.

wow you guys are fucking retarded play the game and you figure out that forge stays behind and dies so there is no way its him and if you read the books it also says he was kiddnapped at 6 25 years after harvest nubs

A couple things 1:That "real master chief picture" um ya is fake crap if anyone thought to actually look at the campaign chief A.K.A the real one. 2:If you read the halo timline in the game or actually knew anything about halo the spartan 1 program= total failure so no crap about the spartans in the game being the spartan 1'S Also from the timline The Chief also know as Jhon and Fprge ya their alive at the same time and no hes not his son Forge only has a daughter and he even gets in a fight with spartan 42 Douglas who is mentioned in the books as a member of blue team the chiefs squad. 3:to anyone who thinks im making this up read the books and ceck the halo wiki you know who you are "JWK" and also games radar whoever made or published this article good job howed you get so many people to believe this crap? P.S. ne is not a clone becuase if he was hed look exactly like forge when the time line says hes around 12-15.
  • Coolbeans69 - April 11, 2009 3:38 p.m.

Yeah forge is most likely alive for a halo wars sequel, if u look at the picture of chief then u see his face is deformed and burned and forge obviously got burned but he somehow survived. But i agree with NelosAngel he should remain faceless

Sgt Forge is NOT the Master Cheif. The books ARE canon, and all 4 of the Halo games recognize the books as so. This article is based on VERY faulty assumptions and poor evidence. This, including the fact that that glithed face is NOT the MC's face, makes this whole article void.

Unofficial representative of the people who read into Halo's intricacies and know most of, and probably too much, of the backstory. Sorry to burst your bubbles, people, but John Forge is not John-117, a.k.a. the Master Chief. In case it wasn't obvious by the video or the actual game cutscene, Forge was ENGULFED BY A SUPERNOVA. No matter who you are, there is no deus ex machina big enough to save you from a got damn SUPERNOVA. Not even dragon ball revival would do it. Secondly, Bungie has stated time and time again that the face behind the MULTIPLAYER visor in the Halo 3 MULTIPLAYER BETA was an easter egg, and was a photoshopped face of one of their employees. In fact, I'd put money on it being Marcus Lehto's face, the guy who also supplied the face and voice for Sgt. Stacker in Halo 1. Third, if you want to get nerdy, the Chief was either off in another solar system or recuperating from an injury sustained in that solar system when Harvest was attacked, and Halo Wars started. If you want to get REALLY nerdy, http://halo.wikia.com/wiki/John-117
