Hey, i was on Rockstar's official Twitter page and was messing around with the dev console and got this link to the background image which is slightly obscured by the Twitter stuff. Is it me..or does it look very GTA-ish..and also is that L.A. at the bottom =O http://a0.twimg.com/profile_background_images/329920509/backgroundtemplate-max-bg.jpg

not sure if thats already from a game they made, but it reminds me of Las Vegas more than any other city.

Wahoo, I've got ideas all forming in my head. Awesome

Saints Row 2 was so much more entertaining than GTA IV so I expect this pattern will continue. Rockstar seem too focused on delivering authenticity now and the fun has been shelved. I'll probably pick the game up anyway, I've gotta see for myself, but I'm exepecting to enjoy Saints Row the Third quite a lot more.

The color green could also be about Ireland but I think your guess makes more sense.

If you're not from the US, it might not be obvious, but the pattern around the "V" is clearly modeled after patterns on the US dollar.

That's not really 'Irish green' But I would love a GTA set in here in Ireland, specifically Dublin

I'm sure this will be awesome, but I can't pretend I'm not a little disappointed that this and Max Payne 3 will be the bell cows for Rockstar in the next year, with still not so much as a whisper about Bully 2. Someday.

GTA Wall Street!? Just fix the car handling and I could care less what city it takes place in!

If the aim of the game is to rob and murder all the damn protestors then it's a day one purchase for me.

To me that logo says that the generation arc we assumed has been scrapped and instead of having a new game with interconnected plots and characters (like GTA 3, Vice City and San Andreas) we are just skipping to a totally new game altogether? or maybe they're throwing us off the scent a bit by putting those seemingly obvious money connections because lets face it, the games all centre around money (although GTA 4 more-so I think, Niko is constantly admitting he is committing crimes for money only)
  • potpan0 - October 25, 2011 7:49 a.m.

We got The Lost and The Damned, and The Ballod of Gay Tony, which I guess count as the arc.

What they're trying to say, is: "GTA:V will make a f--kton of money".

Fix the gameplay issues. Anything before GTAIV is borderline unplayable, and GTAIV and Red Dead Redemption often had their brilliant worlds spoiled for me due to extreme gameplay frustrations. I will be renting this one, and will be very disappointed if the most basic element of the game, its mechanics, still does not receive the level of polish that Rockstar obviously should be very capable of giving it.

Renting then buying, I should clarify, if it holds up. I won't bother with reviews, by and large; except Yahtzee, most of them don't even bother mentioning anything in the way of mechanics and control issues.

Naw, the last few games have been fantastic. GTA is inherently frustrating on occasion though, due to its trial and error approach to completing missions.
  • TakingSides - October 25, 2011 6:21 a.m.

This is fantastic news! I'm really excited about this. I am concerned about a few things however, such as in IV I felt many of the "good GTA puns" were forced and not so funny like previous versions. I think reinventing the wheel is definately going to become boring, quite quickly. I was disappointed to return to Liberty City for the second time in IV. We've had the 1900's (Red dead).. We've had 50's (Godfather/Mafia/L.A. Noire).. We've had Liberty City (twice)... we've had ghetto's and gangters/gangs (San Andreas)... We've had the 80's, party's and beaches (VC)... I really don't know what to expect from this. Though my personal favourite, is absolutely Vice City, I can not begin to describe just how much of VC I loved.
