Gordon Freeman playable in Renegade Ops for PC

It may be years before Half-Life's Gordon Freeman makes his official return to gaming, but if you're cool with downloadable, vehicle-based shooters, you can take him for a spin as soon as next month in the PC version of Sega's Renegade Ops.

Developed by Avalanche Studios (Just Cause), Renegade Ops is a top-down, twin-stick vehicular combat game that supports up to 4-player multiplayer. It has been available on Xbox Live and the PlayStation Network since mid-September, and is now slated to release for PC on October 14. To make up for the delay, Avalanche Studios is adding Gordon Freeman, his Half-Life buggy and antlion allies to the PC mix. See how the brainy freedom fighter holds his own behind the wheel in this new trailer:

Renegade Ops is available for pre-order now on Steam. It will come in two flavors: a regular version for $14.99, and a four pack that includes three extra copies for your online friends for $29.99.

Four copies for $30? That's not a bad deal.

Come on Valve, just "%#$%" announce Half life 3.... dammit Duke Nukem forever got released before Gordon Freeman, just not fair. I do wonder... when they do announce it.... will there be a heacrab hat or a pair of red glasses as pre order bonuses in TF2?
