God of War heads to Hollywood

The next game to follow the likes of Doom, Tomb Raider and Resident Evil to the silver screen will be Sony's own .

Universal and Mosaic Group have snapped up the rights to the PS2 beat-'em-up and intend to adapt its blend of togas and terror to the big screen, according to Variety magazine.

Charles Roven, the producer of Batman Begins, has signed up to the project although, so far, any reports of Vin Diesel (The Chronicles of Riddick) or Uwe Boll (House of the Dead, Bloodrayne, Alone in the Dark) jumping on board have mercifully remained unconfirmed.
