@Crofto Yeah...I respectfully disagree. Putting the sex scenes aside, the Mass Effect and Dragon Age romance plots themselves, are the best we've gotten so far. They're a hell of a lot better than anything else on this list and more than a few films.

I gotta hand it to DA:O for including homo sex at all, though. With as much homophobia as there is in the gaming community, it was rather ballsy and a nice gesture to all us gaymers out there. Now if only the scene itself wasn't so awkward and horrifying...it's pretty bad that actual gay porn has better acting.

"Bioware either needs to find a way to tastefully show nudity or go back to ME1 style angling." Mass Effect is just as embarrassing and hardly on-par with films, so it's not exactly a bastion for which all games should aim. Anyway I agree with Mikel that poor romance scenes are holding games back as a medium, but compared to the gaming community and terrible reviewers out there, it's low on the list of things that need to change before gaming becomes equal to film.

The Heavy Rain one was totally optionaly depending on how you played the story though. I actually missed it the first time round. That said, I thought it wasn't that bad. It was just seeing Ethan's sex face that made it a bit weird. And on a side note, I wish undoing a bra in real life was as easy as a quarter-circle of the right stick :s

Pyramid Head should be number 1 just because of the sheer wrongness of a threesome involving three Silent Hill monsters. Don't forget that it was symbolic of James's supressed sexual desires aswell.
