Mount & Blade: With Fire & Sword - Launch trailer

We're almost legal here with Episode 20 of GamesRadar's Trailer Trash Theatre. So, we've got a few deliciously dull videos from Darkest Hour: Europe '44-'45, Mount & Blade: With Fire & Sword and another product video from CTA Digital. I hope you're not in a rush, because the first two trailers are slo-o-o-o-o-ow... (but that's what we're here for)

To be 100% honest, I really enjoyed both of those trailers. Obviously not the 3rd one (for the Kinect pad) as I don't even own an Xbox 360 and it was super lame. I guess I should expect hate towards games such as Darkest Hour and Mount & Blade from a site ran by console lovers. Darkest Hour and Mount & Blade actually happen to be 2 of my favorite games and are both on PC only. While I agree that the trailers were slow, I thought both trailers were well done and WAY better than half the trailer trash out there made for supposed "AAA" titles. Atleast those trailers both showed off real, in game graphics and gameplay. So help me god if I watch another trailer for a AAA title that shows only CGI cinematics of the game's opening sequence. I don't watch game trailers to see how flashy of a CGI cutscene the developer can make. I want to see what the game looks like in action and what features it has. Which is exactly what those trailers both did. Further, both of those games are independent titles. Did you really expect superb, AAA budget style trailers from Indie developers?! Darkest Hour is offered completely FREE for download on Steam if you already own Red Orchestra (as it's a mod for Red Orchestra) and Mount & Blade: With Fire & Sword just released for 15 bucks last week. How you could expect more out of trailers for those type of Indie made PC games is beyond me. To hold them up in comparison to trailers made by studios with multi-million dollar marketing budgets (which is what I expect to see on TTT) is ridiculous. These trailers were perfectly on par with their base material and really well done when you consider that neither was made professionally or with any kind of budget behind it. Just to make it clear, I love GamesRadar and all of it's staff. I think you guys write great articles and are the best gaming site around. I normally love the Trailer Trash Theatre as well but you guys really missed it on this one. I highly doubt any of the 3 writers doing this TTT has ever played either of those titles. If so, you'd be pleasantly surprised that both of those games are extremely well done titles that capture the essence of what gaming is really all about. And both were made by completely independent developer studios that truly love making games. Were the trailers perfect? Not by a long shot. But I stand by my argument that they were way better than half the trailer garbage I see out there for so called AAA titles. Watching those trailers seriously made me want to go home and fire up some Darkest Hour and Mount & Blade! I know what I'm doing tonight now! ;D Oh and thanks for showing me trailers for 2 of my favorite games that I had never seen before. Too bad I had to listen to you guys complaining the whole time. :P ;)

Christ's sake that was slow. No wonder that war lasted a hundred years. "Works with all Xbox 360 Kinect Games" Of course it does, it doesn't connect to anything! It's a freaking mat!

Yeah, that's definitely Liberi Fatali, and I think it's the Distant Worlds album version. Strange.

Best Trailer Trash yet, here is to another 20

I know this might sound crazy, but the last "scene" where You stand a little staggered, seemed to make the shot a little more dynamic, rather than just standing on a line. Try to experimenting a little with it.

CTA Digital? Does this mean I can ride the virtual bus around my town now? (CTA = Chicago Transit Authority where I'm from)

My sister twisted her ankle using a power pad, playing track and field

Ya'll really need to get Chris to stop standing like a little boy in front of the camera. Its adorable.

That last "Hi, I'm Lizzie" was super-cute. They should program that into all Aperture Science Sentry Turrets, and when some one rounds the corner to say, "Hi, Lizzie!", they get a face-full of 65% more bullets.

WOW. I can't believe they outright STOLE from Final Fantasy VIII. Dear Darkest Hour, You are lazy assholes. And you suck.
  • SpadesSlick - May 13, 2011 2:26 a.m.

Another great edition of TTT. That mat has to to be the dumbest gaming accessory I have ever seen. And that is saying something
  • BoobleDrop - May 13, 2011 1:14 a.m.

i really like Chris's shirt. it looks like something mars1 would make
  • GamesRadarBrettElston - May 13, 2011 1:06 a.m.

Well FFVIII IS my least favorite of all the games... never finished it and haven't paid attention to the soundtrack, so yeah I totally missed it. Did sound like FF though, as I did make a Sephiroth reference... OH WELL
  • kyle94 - May 13, 2011 12:52 a.m.

The games in the Mount and Blade series are good. Though, at the same time, there are a lot of things wrong with them. And that trailer wasn't really what I would call "good".
  • ssj4raditz - May 13, 2011 12:51 a.m.

I'm glad you guys watch this tripe, because no one else will!
