While Batman and Superman might be hogging top billing on Dawn Of Justice, Wonder Woman will also be making her bow in Zack Snyder's superhero extravaganza, with Gal Gadot (who plays Wonder Woman) describing her character as "strong and inspiring".
"I’m so excited about this role," Gadot told Interview Magazine. "I feel like I’ve been given a huge opportunity to inspire people, not only women. And not because of me but because of who Wonder Woman is and what she stands for. There’s a lot of responsibility. But I have the best team and the best people to work with. It’s going to be an amazing ride, knock on wood."
"They always ask you the same questions," says Gadot of casting agents. "'What are you looking for? What types of movie would you like to do?' And I always said, 'I’m open.' I’m very open to all different genres because I’m a very open-minded girl. But eventually, I told them that I wanted to be able to show the stronger side of women."
"I didn’t want to do the obvious role that you see in Hollywood most of the time, which is the heartbroken girl who’s waiting to be rescued by the guy, blah, blah, blah. I wanted to do something different. Little did I know that I would land Wonder Woman not long after." Co-starring Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck and Jesse Eisenberg, Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice will open in the UK and US on March 25, 2016.
