Flower, Soundshapes, Escape Plan, Flow in PS4 launch with cross-buy

Four existing titles for PS3 and PS Vita are coming to PS4, complete with cross-buy. That means if you already own Escape Plan, Flow, Flower, or Sound Shapes, they'll be ready to play at launch or soon after on Sony's next-gen system for no extra cost, according to the PlayStation Blog.

Thatgamecompany's Flower will be available on Nov. 15, along with musical platformer Sound Shapes. Flow and Escape Plan will join them on Nov. 29 after the latter is reworked for DualShock 4 controls--note that it still won't appear on PS3, likely for the system's lack of touch support.

Although PS4 is only backwards compatible in the sense that it may one day stream a large portion of the PlayStation catalogue, this move bodes well for the continued existence of its ample indie library.

Hey editors (anyone at GR reading this), I'm having issues getting your RSS feed to refresh in my news reader app (Pulse). Other feeds refresh fine, but yours has been stuck since Friday. I emailed support at gamesradar but got no response. Just wanted someone else to know.

Does this mean we can get the trophies again on PS4 if we got them on PS3?

Rather odd question... but most likely not, just like our accounts persist and share scores between platforms, I think it's safe to assume their trophy progress will be linked/sync'd (perhaps saves too) the way they do between PS3 and Vita.

I would guess not, but I haven't played anything on Vita, so I'm not sure how that works, but with a new system in the PS4 I think there's a chance we might be able to get PS4 versions of trophies, separate from PS3 versions. I'll certainly try out the Thatgamecompany games again on my shiny PS4, they're already great on PS3.

Sound Shapes have two platinums. I assume there will probably be a separate PS4 trophy list as well. And they didn't require two playthroughs. Just get all trophies in one, upload save to the in-game cloud, load from the other platform, and they all auto-popped. Same was true for Sly 4. Other games (Guacamelee, for example) used a combined list for PS3/Vita. So it could go either way, but since Sound Shapes already has two lists, I'd assume it will add a third.
