First Portal 2 DLC announced, will be free

Boo-hoooo, Portal 2 is too short. Well guess what, punks? Valve is releasing free DLC this summer, that's what. Just go ahead and ignore that '5 reasons to hate' article...

The first Portal 2 DLC will feature "new test chambers for players, leaderboards, challenge mode for single and multiplayer modes, and more," and will be released free for all platforms. No specific release date has been set, but Valve says that the DLC is "in development" and targeted for this summer.

@db1331 ...Im actually kinda scared to find out the answer...even though valve has made M$ millions of dollars...well it would take somthing much greater 2 make them do this haha

@db1331 Yeah they must have really given MS a spectacular lapdance maybe MS sees this as an opportunity while PSN is failing to pounce so they're being more lenient in an effort to get more stuff on XBLA

I love Portal 2 I love free things too. Valve has Portal 2 Valve has free things too. Therefore, I love Valve. (And no, I have no idea why this comment has five lines each with five syllables. It just sorta happened that way).

It's not as short as I expected, in fact I haven't finished it yet! Free DLC makes my day.

FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU- WHY VALVE WHY? I just got my casual fag friends to shut the hell up about Portal, this just gives them another reason to go,' ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh isn't it so f-ing complex,' ,' gawd isn't it funny when',....,'I was so heartbroken when Wheatly-'..... Maybe I can get myself a Portal gun and shoot one in my mouth then one in at my foot and eat myself

This is the best thing that I could possibly return from an internet retreat to.

I second what people have already said... exactly what type of voodoo did Valve do to convince Microsoft to release content for free >_> More and more, Valve is becoming the Apple to Microsoft's... Microsoft-iness lol

@BigKingBud First of all playing the demo of a game is a stupid why form an opinion about it, if you really wanted to see what it was like then you'd rent it. Oh wait I forgot, that would only matter if there was demo on steam, but there isn't! So your making something up to make validate your opinion? Wow, screw of troll...

OH YEA, that's what I'm talking about. It's awesome that console players are actually getting the same deal from Valve.
  • bamtan - April 29, 2011 8:36 p.m.

Good on ya Valve. Though I'm sure people will find some way to complain about this...
  • TheHungryLemur - April 29, 2011 8:09 p.m.

  • festafreak - April 29, 2011 8:09 p.m.

Thank you Valve for not giving in to the nickel and diming that is going on everywhere else in the game industry. This is one of the many reasons I love your company and continue to support it (and sing your praise). I can't wait for more portal. I finished the game in 9 hours. A little longer than some but it was a really good 9 hours.
