First Ms. Splosion Man gameplay video takes sploding to new heights

Splosion Man is one of the best XBLA exclusives ever made, thanks to a winning mix of fun, old school platforming and genuine laughs (who could forget the song Donuts, Go Nuts?). The indie developer Twisted Pixel went on to make Comic Jumper and are currently working on the Kinect-exclusive Gunstringer, but they still found time to work on its first sequel, Ms Splosion Man. And as this debut footage of the game in action shows, it’s more than just Splosion Man wearing a pink bow.

The video shows the stages looking a more open than in the first game, and the speed looks even more manic than before. However, the same style of Rube Goldberg-esque platforming puzzles returns, plus there’s at least one giant boss fight and even a new song in the style of Donuts, which we’re totally fine with. We can’t wait for the gender-switched sequel to hit Xbox Live this fall. In the meantime, enjoy some new screens.
