Fallout New Vegas Lonesome Road DLC trailer walks a lonely road

Fallout: New Vegas has enjoyed a steady stream of downloadable content since its launch, with players being pulled all over the wasteland to fight against the Brotherhood of Steel, tribal raiders, and other mutated creatures that roam in Bethesda’s open-world post-apocalyptic RPG. But while some have been related to the game’s story, none have flown as closely as the upcoming Lonesome Road DLC, which latches on to some of the unexplained plot points from the original game.

In a new trailer we’re introduced to Ulysses, or – as Fallout players might know him – the original Courier Six, who turned down the job to deliver the Platinum Chip that landed the player in the middle of a conspiracy to take over New Vegas. Take a look!

Well, our interest is piqued. We’re looking forward to finding out what made Ulysses turn down the job on September 20 – let’s hope that, this time, it launches without a hitch. The last few DLC packs haven’t had the cleanest launches, and if we’re spending 800 Microsoft Points (or $9.99 in real money) we don’t want any game breaking glitches this time around.

As you may be able to tell from my profile image, I am quite fond of the story of New Vegas. While it isn't quite as gripping as the Fallout 3 narrative, I appreciate its scope and the experiment it has been doing with its DLC (in that they all are at least loosely connected). I've been excited for Lonesome Road for a very long time now, and cannot wait to finally meet Ulysses. September 20th all the way!

I must have been lucky because I've bought every single one of the New Vegas DLC packs on day one and I've never ran into any glitches. I mean there was one spot in Old World Blues where I got stuck in a hole but aside from that I've had no issues. I've been waiting for Lonesome Road because my main character is maxed and there are two weapons in Old World Blues I want to track down but I want to get XP for the trip. On top of that I've been curious about Ulyssys since I opened my collector's edition of New Vegas and saw him on one of the cards. Also, I hope you get his jacket during the DLC.

Looks pretty cool, I might buy it. The first two DLCs to come out for NV didn't look good, and old war blues looks like a cartoon (I'll probably still buy it though).

Us gamers shouldn't have to "hope" to avoid glitches. I guess I'm still reeling from the experience of buying Fallout: New Vegas at launch only to have it freeze my console repeatedly, and I do mean repeatedly. What's the word I'm looking for...oh yeah, "unplayable." Think I'll buy a magazine on Sept. 20 instead and HOPE the pages aren't all stuck together.

I hope it has a great ending, not something like "Courier, we were seperated at birth and now I am a hugh bitch about it," or "You bullied me in high school, dick."

Well, Ulysses' voice is sufficiently gravelly for todays teenagers. AKA, Me. Bit disappointed by that, I thought he'd be more... Original. I was pretty excited about this, but, after seeing the trailer, I'd rather just buy Old World blues instead :/

I'm SO pumped for this. Hopefully I'll be able to play it on launch day, since I have so much freakin' homework these days.

No game breaking glitches? Good luck with that!
