E3 Nintendo

"Am I the only one that sees an always on PIP Boy?" This. Imagine some gadget like-functionality for Batman in "Arkham City". Or a bag of weapons or poisons or darts for Ezion (orAltair) in Assassin's Creed. This really does sound amazing and I don`t know why people are bitching about it. It's not motion control, really.

For the record, Blu-ray is not owned by Sony. The Blu-ray Disc Association does, of which Sony is only one of over 180 corporate members. The Board of Directors includes representatives from Apple, Dell, LG, Mitsubishi, Samsung, Warner Bros., Walt Disney, and more.

DAMN! I am a little iffy on the bigger controller, but god damn-it, I love to see Nintendo get it right, I guess I'm gonna have fraction my time between PS3 & Wii-U. & I will love every minute of it, I really hope the industry will stop making consoles soon, cause I just wanna stick this, my PS3, a 3ds & a PSvita.

@Moondoggie1157 I agree completely. We are all fools if we let Nintendo do this to us twice. Sure, the Wii dominated this generation sales wise, but I believe that most of those systems are collecting dust in casual gamers' living rooms. The Wii was a fad, the type of fad that got false attention. News stories everywhere talking about the exercise and family potential. I'll give Nintendo one thing, they are marketing geniuses. One mention of Smash Bros and people are already giving Nintendo their money! They didn't even have one image of it! The game may not even be in production! And don't call me a fanboy of any of the other systems. I've been a Nintendo fan for literally as long as I can remember. I wanted so bad for them to return to the hardcore mentality.

Interesting as it should be, this is all for the controller, the full console and potential is yet,to be seen. Nintendos got it right, we just need to wait.

So when this baddie comes out, owning a Wii would be silly right? The controller wouldn't work on a wii, just with Wii things? I dunno, nice concept, sounds like nice games will be coming. But I won't get all excited or even disappointed until I know much much more.
  • therealmaggo - June 8, 2011 3:07 a.m.

Possibilities are awesome, revolutionary. I just pray they filter out all the filler shite that plagues the Wii. If I see another Job Island game, I might drown in rage.

At first I was worried that this was going to be the Wii all over again. Then they said 1080p and started listing off all of the third party support, which made me think that maybe all their "create a console for everyone" stuff isn't total BS after all. I'm not saying that Wii U is going to be the most amazing thing ever, but I'm keeping an open mind and I think everyone else should too.

hmmm... the concept is good but I'm fearing this to be another Sega Dreamcast syndrome... I can't tell if that controller is trying to be an actual controller or a tablet... if it's trying to do both then there's a big hole to fill... controller wise, it's bulky and looks uncomfortable... tablet wise, they have to compete with other established tablets... oh and if they're trying to market it as a handheld portable device, it's too big for that and they just created a competitor for their 3DS... maybe with a little more time, I'll understand what Nintendo is trying to accomplish with this... for now, I'm quite puzzled...

  • DaveGoose - June 8, 2011 12:29 a.m.

    Nintendo is dead to me....
  • majorsuave - June 8, 2011 12:28 a.m.

"perhaps Nintendo invented a new disc format for its system" They did for the Wii... Wii media are called RVT and are similar to DVDs but are simply not

FAP FAP FAP (Can't wait for the Full Access Preview)
  • Spybreak8 - June 8, 2011 12:07 a.m.

The Zelda Tech demo looks great but that's because It doesn't have all the AI code running in the background so while it does look good I don't now if actual games will look that good though. I was surprised Nintendo didn't even show anything about the console as for the longest time I was like wait so the controller is the new console?! The controller looks like a good direction, I really liked the augmented sand trap golf shot part, that was cool.
  • GamerTagsSuck - June 8, 2011 12:07 a.m.

It'll be nice to see some of the classics in good old HD. Can't wait to get rid of my Wii for this.
  • Moondoggie1157 - June 7, 2011 11:58 p.m.

Sorry, something else to say. I just got the video to work, and it's great to see everyone so excited! :) Remember how well the Wii worked when it was launched, oh man, I loved it! I am totally sure the WiiU will work just as well as it does in the video, I mean come on, why wouldn't it? And hey, it's not like the whole gimmick will be ruined if it doesn't run perfectly. K, end of sarcasm. I was so excited that Nintendo would surprise us with something amazing... I guess I am just bitter. They dashed my dreams...
  • Crimmy - June 7, 2011 11:49 p.m.

Super Smash Bros is gonna be awesome. But don't add any gimmicks please...
  • Moondoggie1157 - June 7, 2011 11:43 p.m.

And here I thought Nintendo might return to it's roots. Another Wii gimmick... Yes everyone, take Nintendo's casual cock and stroke it, it's the Wii all over again. Jump aboard and once the novelty has run out after a year, start bitching, again, just like the Wii. Really though, we get a new system that is as powerful as the 360 and PS3 (Only 6 years late), realistically lets say that will cost what? $300 (minimum). Now, to fully experience this system we will have to buy a tablet controller with a fair sized HD screen, now what will that run us? I'd be willing to bet at least $100 each. All of this for a current gen system that is years behind? Mhmmm... Go for it guys, really. History repeats itself. An all around mediocre E3.
